In celebration of Canada 150, the Government of Canada has declared 2017 the year of free Parks Canada admission! They have also launched a new mobile app to help visitors plan their adventures, share their journey on social media, and create great experiences.
"National parks, historic sites and marine conservation areas represent the very best that Canada has to offer," said the Honourable Catherine McKenna, Minister of Environment and Climate Change and Minister responsible for Parks Canada. "As we celebrate the 150th anniversary of Confederation, Parks Canada is launching new and innovative programs and services to enable Canadians, including youth and newcomers, to experience the outdoors and learn more about our heritage. The NEW Parks Canada app provides visitors with fun, new ways to connect with Canada's treasured places, plan their trips to Parks Canada destinations and share their experiences on social media. Parks Canada looks forward to welcoming Canadians and visitors from around the world to celebrate Canada 150."
The free Parks Canada app is available in the App Store and Google Play Store. It works on Android 4.4 and up, and iOS 9.0 and up. Read more at the Government of Canada website here.
