if u look in the network settings, the 850 band is likely missing because u had a european destined phone dumped on you and you were misled or ripped off.
there is an easy fix at howardforums, i just did it and im so much happier. went from no signal to 5 bars.

has the instructions, you will need a usb data cable to connect your phone to your computer.

L6 was GREAT!

I have to disagree with these other two reviews... I have gone through a few phones as of late and let me tell you this baby had one of the best receptions I've ever seen.... even worked in my basement (this is a first from any phone so far). The buttons and menus were all excellent and it was rugged and depenable in every way. Still looked like new after a months use and if there is anything bad that can be said it's the charge time.... which I overcame by having two batteries with one always charged on an external charger. Graphics were good and sound from all directions was impeccable.. talking.. listening.. ringtones.. button tones everything was just amazing. I upgraded to the L7 only due to being so impressed and fetching a good dollar for the L6 after using it for a month.. oh yeah.. they hold their value better than most too! For a 5 star rating see my L7 review... but if can't afford the L7 price I highly reccomend the L6.

Lousy reception,

Just took this phone out to try.

First thing I noticed is that when it is taken out in daylight you cannot read the screen. That's dumb.

Second, since I'm in a rural area, a good receiver in the radio part is v. important. The signal bars lie - you do not have the signal strength they indicate. Forget colour screens, styling, fancy features, a phone has to be a phone first and last.

Nice try Motorola, but you did not make the cut.

One good thing - speakerphone feature is v. nice.

Miles in Enfield.
