HTC Touch Diamond 3051

This phone is terrible, i purchased two of them for my kids on 2 year contracts, within 3 mths the screen freezes and to correct it you have to take the battery out. Since then the phones won't even turn on now. Waste of money.

At first I hated it then after 10 days started to like it, now I absolutly love it---Takes lots of learning and mannual reading ---its small, no moveing parts, good looking and functional----the down aspect is you can not turn off the aspect of the phone assuming who you are going to call when you enter a # from the key pad, fustrating, as I do at times make unwanted calls. Also the manual does not tell you how to set up and use voice activation or dialing-- I find it does a poor job here but
there is a way to teach it your voice, just have not found how to do that yet. Also ive paired it up with the blue ant for hands free but the gps navigator voice just uses the speaker phone on the phone , have not been able to get voice to the blue ant---dont know who is to blame here, I susspect blue ant as I did try a Motorla hands free and the key pad sounds came through on it but they don't on the blue ant. You can buy this phone without a data plan through tellus but don't do that unless you have the internet totaly disabled or your bill will be huge---mine was over $1100 with out using it hardly at all in 15 days as i used wifi most the time at no charge---@ 20 dollar plan gives you 500 mb down load free and .05 cents after.
No plan and its 36 dollars per mb.

so, evolved up from my krzr to the touch diamond and 2 weeks later, i returned it and went back to my motorola. i found the interface to be confusing and the windows mobile stuff... well, speaks for itself in that it's just messed up! it would take me 5 minutes just to make a call! (and i'm a girl who's had phones since i was 16!) the phone is absolutely fantastic looking! a sweet hand accessory but it's usefulness was not so much with me. i liked the internet stuff and the many different ways to use text ie: the stylus with all the different keyboard options or the handwriting text recognition which i preferred. but the reason for the phone was to use it as a phone first and formost and i found that frustrating. i also deleted my entire msn address book from the phone accidentally since i just wanted to delete some people from the cell phone book and it seemed to be all or nothing at the time (this might have been my error somewhere but - just proves then that it's not easy to use/understand)
ok - nice looking toy but functionally challenging for basic not fancy stuff is my opinion and i traded back.

Got this phone about a week ago and so far it is better then expected, just waiting for the ROM update from telus and then it will be even better! the touch screen works very well, and the overall speed is AMAZING compared to anything I've used before!
