BlackBerry Smartphones

There was a brief period in history when you couldn’t walk down the street without hearing a business person say, “I’ll put that in my Blackberry”. The BlackBerry, originally manufactured by BlackBerry Limited (formerly Research In Motion), was the first mega-popular smartphone. If you didn’t have a BlackBerry, you knew somebody who did.

Over the years the BlackBerry has had to take a backseat to the iPhone and popular Android phones. Eventually BlackBerry Limited changed gears by focusing on other areas of their business and licensing the BlackBerry brand to other mobile device manufacturers. In the US (and several other parts of the world), TCL Communication designs and makes phones under the BlackBerry Mobile brand.

Current BlackBerry phones run on Android. Blackberry phones typically range from budget to mid-level smartphones. These phones should be supported by most carriers, but few are sold directly through the carrier.

BlackBerry KEY2

The BlackBerry KEY2 is a mid-level smartphone running on Android. Its dual rear camera (12MP) system will help capture adequate photos, but keep in mind BlackBerry phones aren’t quite known for having superior cameras.

The KEY2 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660. While it’s an older processor, it still has enough kick to handle the average user’s multitasking demands. A defining feature of the KEY2 is its physical keyboard, which has been adapted from the previous KEYone.

BlackBerry KEY2 LE

The BlackBerry KEY2 may be a mid-level smartphone, but its original retail price is awfully close to high-end prices. The BlackBerry KEY2 LE is the more budget-friendly version of the KEY2.

Like the higher-end model, the KEY2 LE comes with a rear dual-system, but rather than two 12MP lenses, the KEY2 LE has a primary 13MP lens and a secondary 5MP lens.
