Verizon Plans Overview

Unlimited Data Plans: Though Verizon’s unlimited data plans cost $5-$10 more than its competitors, its perks and service are on par with the added cost.

Limited Data Plans: Verizon offers four different shared data plans, and its only real competitor here is AT&T, but it still only offers two plan options to pick from.

Prepaid Plans:  All major carriers offer customers prepaid plans with a range of options, but Verizon gives you more choices than anyone else.

Family Plans: Discounts get steeper with each added line, and Verizon is the only carrier that will let you mix and match unlimited plans to fit your family’s needs.

Verizon Wireless is the largest carrier in the nation, offering 4G LTE coverage to over 70% of the population—far more than the competition. On top of that, it provides customers with a wide variety of plan options from prepaid plans, limited data plans, family plans, and unlimited data plans. Take a look below at all of its plan offerings and how they compare to the competition and find out if they’re the right mobile provider for you.

Verizon’s Just Kids Plan is an optional add-on to any unlimited line. It offers up to 5GB of 4G LTE data, and you’ll never get stuck paying accidental overages. Its stand-out feature is the suite of parental controls like content filters, app time-limit capabilities, unlimited talk and text for up to 20 contacts, and real-time location tracking. No other carrier offers a plan like that for your kids.

Verizon offers multi-line discounts that increase with each new line added. The same is true for all other carriers, but Verizon is the only provider that lets you mix and match plans to fit your family’s needs. Limited data plans allow you to choose the amount of 4G LTE data you want each month. All of Verizon’s limited data plans come with 480p streaming, hotspot allowances up to your data cap, as well as unlimited talk and text in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. Other major carriers offer similar limited data plans, but Verizon gives you the most options. And if you ever run out of data, you can even buy more at $15/GB.

Prepaid Verizon Plans

Whether you want to skip the credit check, or just looking for some flexibility, a prepaid plan might be for you. Verizon offers a host of great prepaid plans, all of which include 4G LTE data, unlimited talk/text to the U.S., Mexico and Canada—plus texting to over 200 countries. AT&T is the only other major carrier that has prepaid plans that can compete, but Verizon tends to offer more promotions like doubling the data you paid for, for the life of your line.

Verizon Plans for Traveling Abroad

Sure, you can travel abroad and still use your phone, but you can save a lot more if you sign up for an international plan before you go.

All major carriers offer international plan options, and even though T-Mobile offers some of the best ones on the market, Verizon too holds its own with the TravelPass for short trips and month-long travel plans. Each Verizon option comes with large text allowances, reasonable talk time, and 4G LTE data.
