HTC Announces new Android Smartphones the Desire & Legend

Earlier this week at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona HTC announced two new Android based smartphones with the Desire & Legend. The Desire is essentially the Nexus One tweaked to HTC's liking while the Legend is the follow-up to the well received HTC Hero.

The HTC Desire is rumoured to have the same specs as teh Google Nexus One with a number of small adjustments. Europe and Asia can expec the smartphone in April. Features include:
  • Android 2.1 OS
  • 3.7″ AMOLED touchscreen
  • 5 megapixel camera
  • Optical Trackpad vs. standard trackball

HTC Legend

The HTC Legend is the successor to the very popular HTC Hero. It should feature a number of improvements over the Hero including:
  • Android 2.1 OS
  • Processor speed bump from 528 Mhz to 600 Mhz
  • Screen upgraded from standard LCD to a AMOLED screen
  • Optical Trackpad vs. standard trackball
