Compare Simple Mobile phone plans

Simple Mobile offers five different prepaid plans, with data allowances ranging from 3GB to unlimited. However, it’s important to be aware that Simple Mobile throttles data (to 2G speeds) after you use up your monthly data allowance.

Note: Simple Mobile also offers family plan options for each of its five plans, costing $20 per added line on the $25 Unlimited Plan and $25 for all other plan tiers.

$25 Unlimited Plan

First up is Simple Mobile’s $25 Unlimited Plan, which includes 3GB of 4G LTE data, then your data is slowed to 2G for the rest of the billing cycle. 3GB is a pretty low amount of data for even the most modest of data users—consider this plan if you’re almost always connected to WiFi and only use your data for low-demand activities, such as checking email and web browsing. Otherwise, a higher tiered plan may be a better choice to go with.

Simple Mobile’s $25 Unlimited Plan features:

  • Unlimited talk and text
  • 3GB of 4G LTE data (then slowed to 2G speeds)
  • Mobile hotspot capability
  • International roaming in Mexico and 16 countries in Latin America
  • Unlimited international calling and texting
  • Add additional lines for just $20/month (up to 4)
  • $5 monthly savings with Simple Mobile’s ReUp program

$30 Unlimited Plan

Simple Mobile’s $30 Unlimited Plan includes 5GB of 4G LTE data—also throttled to 2G speeds once the 5GB allotment is met. 5GB of data—while still a fairly low amount—can be managed by some, but similarly to Simple Mobile’s $25 Unlimited Plan listed above, things like social media apps, gaming, and video streaming will use your data up pretty quickly.

Below are the $30 Unlimited Plan features:

  • Unlimited talk and text
  • 5GB of 4G LTE (then slowed to 2G)
  • Hotspot-capable
  • International roaming in Mexico and 16 countries in Latin America
  • Unlimited international texting and calling
  • Add additional lines for just $25/month (up to 4)
  • $5 monthly savings with Simple Mobile’s ReUp program

$40 Unlimited Plan

Simple Mobile’s $40 Unlimited plan bumps up its data threshold to 15GB/month, which allows you much more flexibility and breathing room as far as data use is concerned. Most of us would fare just fine with 15GB of data, unless you’re constantly streaming video or downloading large media files—in which case, considering an unlimited data plan may make more sense.

SimpleMobile’s $40 Unlimited Plan features include:

  • Unlimited talk and text
  • 15GB of 4G LTE (then slowed to 2G)
  • Mobile hotspot capable
  • International roaming in Mexico and 16 countries in Latin America
  • Add additional lines for just $25/month (up to 4)
  • $5 monthly savings with Simple Mobile’s ReUp program

$50 Unlimited Plan

Next up is Simple Mobile’s $50 Unlimited Plan—one of Simple Mobile’s two “truly” unlimited plans. The $50 Unlimited Plan includes unlimited talk, text, and 4G LTE data. The $50 Unlimited Plan, while unlimited, still makes mention of potentially slowed speeds once you use 40GB in a billing cycle—however, most of us won’t need to ever worry about hitting that threshold.

Simple Mobile’s $50 Unlimited Plan features include:

  • Unlimited talk, text, and data
  • 5GB of dedicated hotspot
  • International roaming in Mexico and 16 countries in Latin America
  • Unlimited international texting and calling
  • Add additional lines for just $25/month (up to 4)
  • $5 monthly savings with Simple Mobile’s ReUp program

$60 Unlimited Plan

Lastly is Simple Mobile’s $60 Unlimited Plan—its most expensive plan, with the most features. Like the $50 Unlimited Plan, the $60 Unlimited Plan includes unlimited talk, text, and data. In addition, you will get 15GB of hotspot allowance, as well as 50GB of Cloud Storage. The $60 Unlimited Plan is a bit pricier compared to unlimited plans with other MVNOs on the market, but the dedicated hotspot allowance and 50GB of Cloud Storage are nice additions and may be worth the extra money if those features are important to you. Keep in mind that despite this plan being unlimited, you may be temporarily deprioritized in favor of users on T-Mobile’s primary network during times of congestion, causing slower than usual data speeds.

Overview of the $60 Unlimited Plan:

  • Unlimited talk, text, and data
  • 15GB dedicated hotspot
  • 50GB of Cloud Storage
  • Unlimited international calling and texting
  • International roaming in Mexico and 16 countries in Latin America
  • Add additional lines for just $25/month (up to 4)
  • $5 monthly savings with Simple Mobile’s ReUp program

What network is Simple Mobile on?

Simple Mobile operates on T-Mobile’s powerful network, taking advantage of its nationwide coverage and growing 5G capabilities. It’s worth mentioning that if you have a 5G capable phone, you will also gain access to T-Mobile’s 5G network—wherever coverage is available and accessible. That said, 5G still has a long way to go before it’s considered the norm as far as coverage is concerned, but knowing you can already take advantage is a plus.

Which Simple Mobile plan is the best?

It’s hard to say objectively which plan is the best from Simple Mobile. Like most cases, the best plan will depend on a variety of factors, including your use-habits, international communications, and specific budget. Fortunately, Simple Mobile offers a wide enough array of plans to meet most needs—regardless of how you use your phone.

If you frequently travel internationally (primarily to Mexico and Latin American countries), all simple mobile plans include great international features and will likely be one of the most cost-effective options available in this department. But if you’re simply looking to pay less than the major carriers—AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon—Simple Mobile will save you a fair amount by comparison, while still utilizing a great major network (T-Mobile).

Simple Mobile vs other T-Mobile MVNOs

Similarly to Simple Mobile, there are a number of alternative MVNOs running on T-Mobile’s network—carriers such as Mint Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile, Ultra Mobile, and Ting. And while there are similarities, particularly with all of these MVNOs being on the same network, there are notable differences in things like features, pricing, and plan availability. Simple Mobile is a great option for customers who frequently call or text loved ones abroad or visit Mexico and Latin America, since the plans are affordable for what you get. That said, you may want to consider picking an alternative MVNO if things like international roaming and calling aren’t very important to you. There are also much cheaper plan alternatives through other T-Mobile MVNOs, if saving money is high on your priority list. You can compare Simple Mobile and other T-Mobile MVNOs in the table below.
