Rogers Launches Essential Connect Package for Seniors

October 26, 2010 by
Yesterday, Rogers quietly launched the Essential Connect Package for Seniors - a Doro PhoneEasy 410gsm handset, designed with seniors in mind (may also suit people with impaired hearing or vision), and a choice of three very basic plans. This package is "designed for seniors (age 60+)", and the only catch is you have to purchase the handset and your choice of plan together - the plans are not available with any other device. The phone has very basic features, large keys, easy to read display, extra loud handset volume (that is hearing aid compatible), and even includes a special 'alert' button that will trigger emergency text messages and calls. The plans include up to 200 anytime minutes, free incoming text messages and the option of adding call display and voice mail. Data is not available. Available on monthly, 1, 2 and 3 year terms, or on prepaid (please note, packages will not be offered in Quebec).
