Google Officially Launches the Nexus One

Google Nexus One Android SmartphoneGoogle officially launched their Nexus One Android Smartphone today at CES 2010.   The Nexus One was a joint project with HTC that will most likely be the best reviewed Android Smartphone to date. 

Unfortunately the new smartphone will only be available in the US to start with no announcement of a Canadian launch mentioned.  It will be available fully unlocked for $529 or $179 on a 2 year contract with Verizon.  You can find full details at www.google.com/phone/.

  • 3.7-inch (diagonal) widescreen WVGA AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels
  • Android Mobile Technology Platform 2.1 (Eclair)
  • 5 megapixels with autofocus, 2x digital zoom & LED flash with ability to tag location of photos with the phone's AGPS receiver
  • Video captured at 720x480 pixels at 20 frames per second or higher, depending on lighting conditions
  • GPS, Wi-fi, Bluetooh 2.1, Digital Compass
