Verizon Launches the Motorola Droid

Verizon Motorola DroidToday Verizon added the Motorola Droid to their Smartphone line-up. The Motorola Droid is the first phone to support the much anticipated Android 2.0 OS and is Verizon's first Android based phone.

The Motorola Droid is receiving some very good opening reviews from early adopters. The Droid features:
  • Android™ 2.0 Platform
  • 3.7-inch WVGA (480 x 854 pixels) touchscreen display with slide-out keyboard
  • Operates on the CDMA 1X 800/1900, EVDO rev. A
  • 5.0 megapixel camera with 4X Digital Zoom, dual LED flash,
  • Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-fi

The Motorola Droid is currently available for $199 on a 2 year contract with Verizon.

Motorola has also been running a mysterious "Droid" commercial for the device that can be seen below.
