The e586e huawei on Wind 45$ a month plan is pretty well useless after the first 13 GB. Won't stream anything cuts off constantly slow as hell. Total waste of time and money.

No good for remote data collection

I bought this for the express purpose of collecting data from a remote site. The unit works fine for a week and will lock up. Must then login through WiFi and reset the device or power cycle the device physically before it will reconnect to the cellular network. There is a connection timeout setting that is set to maximum of 86400 seconds, and that doesn't seem to help. Thus it is no good for remote device monitoring applications that run 24/7. Probably OK if you are carrying it around and can easily reset it.

pretty good

Its good for what it is. just like the other review on windmobile it only goes to 5mbs because of the network. could use some QoS features on the firmware so when running lots of applications on the computer like skype, and video games to allow Skype have priority. great idea for people that are in areas without broadband and mobile broadband is there only solution. I keep it plugged in the charger 24/7 and it dose not over heat. but make sure to remember if you do just like any other battery to power cycle every 6 months

On the WIND network in Canada, you'll only be getting about 2 - 5 Mbits. The network just doesn't give you the maximum speed. Aside from that it's okay quality. It does the job, doesn't get too hot, and the control panel interface was pretty simple. Some great features here and there, but again, can be pretty flakey on the WIND network.
