Sony Ericsson W600i Walkman Phone

To follow up again from my two previous reviews... 9 months after Sony Ericsson started selling this phone, Sony Ericsson has decided to discontinue this model... should I say more?

Hi, i bought this phone in 2005 at Christmas. At first i thought the phone was great like with all the excellent features. However after using it for half a year, it crashed with the blank white screen. The phone wouldnt come on. So i thought it could be fixed. However after calling Sony Ericsson for technical support, they said it was a common problem in the W600 series. But if people are using it only for simple calling and answering then i guess its okay. And the white screen problem wont appear. I think my phone messed up mainly because of the connection between computer and phone. Like transferring songs and pictures. For some reason the phone resets itself when you transfer songs. Its pretty scary because sometimes it took quite a time to get phone working again. It will just freeze there. So i think people shouldnt rely too much on the MP3 player, but rather buy this phone for its looks and battery life. Because lately new phones are usually have a really short battery life. You can still use the functions but i suggest buying an actually MP3 player is more safe. Also Sony ericsson phones are good but they have a very common error which is phones freezing. So people should think about using Nokias, they are more stable.

well, this is my follow up review for my previous one... phone is in the shop again for the 3rd time BLANK SCREEN... it freezes there is a software issue, and let me tell you... the Rogers stores are seeing plenty of these i am not alone. Did i forget to mention that I work for Rogers?!...w600 bye bye...soon to be available on Ebay so if you read this don't buy it! Buy a nokia 6682 you will get your moneys worth.

This phone is truly amazing!!! But I had a software problem blank screen would not power up anymore. I got it fixed (software update) was under warranty, I thought it was nothing and one of my friend had the same problem 3 times in a row getting the phone swapped each and everytime on top of that when phone was on vibration and received a call, it would not stop vibrating when the call was answered! All in all this phone is amazing, the PC suite program is perfect, disc to phone software allows to transfert approx 50-100 songs all depending on the quality disired. Still I give it 4/5 stars hopefully Sony Ericsson fixed my issue by updating my software. I have been using this phone since it came out december 2005.
