Sweet Phone!

Reviewed on Friday September 3, 2004 by , Toronto
THE GOOD:
--I have never used a phone with such clarity. People I talk to even comment on how clear it sounds.
--Speaker phone is a key feature as I regularly use it for conference calls.
--Battery charges in about 1.5 hours!

THE BAD:
--Slow processing speed. It takes 30 seconds or so to load the games and about 45 seconds to boot up

Overall, I am quite happy with the phone and would recommend it to people who don't want a lot of bells and whistles on their phone.

Boo to this phone...

Well, apparently I got a lemon in this model of phone because I could hardly wait to get my hands on an upgrade. Nothing but problems, and I have heard other people with the same complaints. Battery issues right from day one...literally, my phone had to be serviced within 2 weeks of purchasing it. And the load time on this beast? You'd think it was my home computer...no wait, my computer was ready to use in less amount of time than this phone!!!

I believe these handsets are going at around $0 with a contract now...BEWARE!!! You get what you pay for (or rather, what you don't pay for!)

I have owned Siemens C56 for 10 months now within which period its microphone has broken down twice. Other than that, it is a great phone.

A GREAT PHONE

i HAVE BEEN USING THIS PHONE FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS, WITH NOT ONE COMPLAINT NOR PROBLEM. THIS IS A FEMININ PHONE, VERY SMALL, GREAT RECEPTION, (EVEN DURING THE BIG HURRICANE JUAN). EVEN WITH OUT THE NEW COLOR SCREENS THIS PHONE IS PERFECT. THE BATTERY LIFE IS PHENOMINAL. NAVIGATION THROUGH MENUS IS SIMPLE. VERY TASTFUL FACE PLATES TO CHOOSE FROM. WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR FROM A CELL???

Best phone for the value

I was lucky enough to get my hands on one of these models a month before everyone else, and it was worth it. It a small phone that looks great, but more importantly than that the speaker and microphone quality are amazing. It even has a built in speaker phone. Sadly it is missing a color screen, but the quality of the phone beats most entry level phones on the markets, especially the motorolla c333, which many ppl get for free, its worth it to just spend the extra money to get the siemens c56 phone and not put up with crappy ones. My only complaint is sometimes in crowds I can't hear the other party, but then thats a problem rogers has with the network.

Surprise Surprise!

To make it short:

The reception of the 3590 but with crisper sound.

The size of a nokia 8390

Practicle browser and quick

Battery lifespan as good as any gsm nokia phones

Interesting hotkey function

You can record people or songs to create ringtones

Plus hands free speaker phone that actually functions and
through witch you can hear the other party.

This is the best kept secret on the Rogers network

4 stars because the only thing missing is the colored screen

Reliable with a few extra punches

I have been using the C56 mobile for a month now, and I must say how impressed I have been. I was not very confident with Siemens phones due to problems in the past with previous models, but the C56 is outstanding! I really liked the idea of having a speaker phone, and it has been performing really well for myself. The C56 comes standard with a rapid charger and lithium ion battery, and generally takes me only 1.5 hours to achieve a full charge on the battery. This is perfect for me as I never have time to charge the battery. The battery usually lasts me about four days, and I leave it on 24 hours a day. If my battery has died and I have set the alarm or a reminder, the phone saves enough battery power to still alert me. THe polyphonic ringtones come out crisper and cleaner than past mobile phones with polyphonic ringtones, and the melody composer keeps me entertained. You can also record your own sounds for ringtones. All in all I have found it to be a reliable phone with lots of extras to keep me busy.
