After 12 years it still does the job nicely. Try that with the phones you buy now.

I like it

I've had this phone since last summer and am quite pleased with it. I find it easy to setup and use. For security reasons the double phone lock feature is especially useful, the phone can be locked at start-up and for each outgoing call. The phone works better that some others in fringe areas which is handy at my remote lakeshore property.

don't get it

This phone has the worst sound quality I have ever experienced. I have returned this phone back to Telus and upgraded to a Motorola. The phone has cool features but once you hear the choppy, grainy voice quality the features mean nothing...

It was great while it worked,
but after 6 months, the display faded, and then dissapeared, rendering me unable to recieve or make calls.. the reception then got very choppy. Three other friends of mine have experianced the same. Save yourself the trouble and cost for repairs by not purchasing this phone.

LG TM-520 is a nice inexpensive clamshell

I have owned my TM-520 for about a year now, and have had no problems. It's small enough to carry in your pocket and handy when you want to quickly browse for weather conditions. I purchased a $20 earphone/microphone cable for using the phone while driving. It does not have a color screen, but has a really sharp green display with contrast adjustment, making it easy to read under most lighting conditions. Other benefits at this low cost are Menus that are easy to use, backlit keys, ring and/or vibration, voice activation and sturdy construction.

I rated this phone 5 stars because for the low cost, relative to other clamshell cell phones, LG has offered a decent little phone.
